Thought Id kickstart a thread on this, a forgotten race I think.
I just seen Fiveforthree is 33/1 for it. Anyone heard any word on him?
Price is about right I think if he lines up.

hes an intended runner alright working nicely at home was always a classy horse wicked unlucky with injuries.theres worse ew bets but it would be some achievement if he went close.hope he does though.wicked hard race to call .if quevega ran shed win but she wont run too many doubts about oscar oover the trip reve de sivola is he as good on better ground not sure .will have to go through this race a few more times to find a winner i think

    I'd fancy him.

I think Reve De Sivola is bombproof in this one lads, stays all day long and wont mind what ground it is. I think his winning runs this season have been overlooked for whatever reason and I feel the horse has improved this year as well. Peddlers Cross is an interesting runner too he could run a big race at a big price.

Its a race I wont be going mad on.
There is something about Peddlars Cross.. he def has a chance and is a bigger price than he should be.

I'll wait until the day and see how the ground is riding.

i agree totally about reve de sivola, going by his form so far this season, i really cant see anything beating him. the way he trounced the field in the long walk hurdle was particularly impressive. i know this will be harder but i cant understand why the bookies have oscar whiskey as fav, rds beat him fair and square, and as you say, i dont think the going will make much difference, unless it was good to firm, which it obviously wont.

I backed Monksland 12/1 Ante Post in a Lucky15 & touch wood they are all still running in the races. But have a nagging doubt about Solwhit & Peddlers Cross but siding with Solwhit at the moment.

It's a really open race this year without the Bombproof Big Bucks!

I've Said it already Oscar whiskey is gonna win this of quevega doesn't run... I'm gonna have a nice bet on him

GMOOH is the one I keep coming back to. This is not a vintage renewal in the slightest and he's proven time and time again how good he is a Cheltenham.

    Reve de Sivola isn't bombproof.

Neither is my wallet unfortunatly, but i think on known form this season he has a favourites chance.

On known form this season he has run in slow affairs on deep ground. He will more than likely be facing an entirely different proposition in 13 days.

Yes i agree to an extent, i dont know how good the going will be,claisse has apparently held off watering because they are expecting a lot of rain from next thursday onwards.i still think rds has a favs chance.i will be backing it but not with serious money.

Do you not think the stronger run race will suit him as he has bucket loads of stamina and arguably his best form is around Cheltenham. I reckon he is bombproof as he ticks all the boxes, whereas if you look at Oscar Whiskey there is serious doubts about his stamina.

A strong pace only suits stamina laden horses if those in front stop. By the time RDS stamina becomes a factor it may be too late on a decent surface.

I don't like Oscar Whisky in the slightest, blatant non stayer which I've always said. His only chance of being competitive is if it is a slow, slow race and I've gone into more detail in that before.

None of the horses have ticked all the boxes really, it's a wide open race.

I agree about Oscar Whiskey he was treading water up the hill last year in this race and cant see him winning.

Looking at the betting again Smad Place is an interesting runner at 16s finished 3rd in the race last year and if he gets some decent ground could be a player.

if Fiveforthree has retained that much of his ability, would it not make more sense to run in the Coral Cup off a mark of 149?

Mullins was interviewed on ATR yesterday. Said he was leaning towards the Coral Cup

Bog warrior could get a run..rain forecast..crucified zaidpour over 3. He's added to the shortlist with monksland, Rev De sivola and potential wonderful charm

There's only 15mm of rain forecast between now and Cheltenham and with more warm dry weather predicted for Cheltenham tomorrow i cant see the ground coming up any softer than currently is.

On of the panelists (think it was Paul Kealy) mentioned at Salthill preview last night that he met a setback & was an unlikely participant.

RDS would go much better on soft ground, he won't have the speed on good ground.

Maybe your right but I will still back him if the ground is good as I think the horse has improved no end since switched back to hurdles. One thing that is putting me off him is the rumours coming from his stable that he is not 100% any truth to this?

Didn't hear anything mate. But I wouldn't be surprised, because he got an awful battering from Dickie last time out.

Just read this on sky sports racing.

Connections of Reve De Sivola are hoping Richard Johnson can continue his magic touch when he partners the eight-year-old in the Ladbrokes World Hurdle at Cheltenham on Thursday week.
Johnson has a 100% record on the Nick Williams-trained gelding with victories in the Long Walk Hurdle at Ascot and Cheltenham's Cleeve Hurdle on his last two starts.
They go for the hat-trick in a race which gave Johnson his first winner in the Festival back in 1999 on Anzum for the late David Nicholson.
And Johnson has gone on record as saying that Reve De Sivola represents his best chance of success as this year's Festival.
Paul Duffy, who heads the Diamond Partnership syndicate that own the horse, said: "Last time I spoke to Nick all was okay.
"Richard has ridden him well both times. He got him into a really good rhythm at Ascot.
"He didn't jump quite so well at Cheltenham, but he gave him a thoroughly good ride to hold on. Let's hope he does the same.
"Nick is still looking for a Festival and as a small owner it would be my first winner there as well."

Warm?? It's in the minus nearly every night/morning before the festival with snow even forecast -3 Tuesday am . -5 on Friday am. Rain is forecast Sat through to Monday like you said approx 15mm. Those temperatures could make for soft I would imagine
Check yr.no , very accurate weather forecast. In fact I believe they use this site for ref in trinity

Backed Wonderful Charm @ 25/1 NRNB with Boyles today after reading that he might turn up here yet. Wont be that price if he does! While his age is against him, he looks to have a serious engine and is a natural stayer which is more that can be said for most of the field!

I have as well. I think he looked a little bit special on his British debut and he's had a wind op since then. Hoping he doesn't turn up at the Coral Cup as he could prove very hard to beat in that race!

Anthony Bromley stated in Mark Howard's book that he was his best import to England since Big Bucks. Ruby thought he wasn't right on his debut but he still got stronger the further he went in that race- sign of a class horse! I've him backed in both but slightly worried that Coral Cup might be a bit short for his liking. Either way I think he'll prove to be a bit special in next few years.

Just broke my tony Martin rule for the second time for te festival (thomas edison in the county) and backed bog warrior . Given the cold snow and rain can't see it not being soft by Wednesday. With all the fuss about reve de sivola and monksland..
I can see the following players come into it get me out of here, wonderful charm and bog warrior.

Just backed him myself with PP 10/1 NRNB, would have preferred to take the 16.5/1 with Betfair but just don't trust Martin sending this horse over to race yet.

Yeah I've just got on at 10s NRNB aswell. NRNB is absolutely the only way I would back a Tony Martin horse.
