i'm looking for a choir to join. I'm living in Rathfarnham. So am looking for a choir on the southside near enough to here or anywhere near or in the city centre.
I like to sing all sorts, folk and rock mainly, classical maybe.

Definitely not religious hymns which I think a surprising number of choirs are into.
If anyone has any info or ideas I'd really appreciate it.

    Linda

    Hi Linda

How about coming along to a free taster session with The Line-Up? We are an adult mixed voice choir with approximately 50 members and are based in Stillorgan. We rehearse each week on a Tuesday evening from 7.15 until 9pm and we focus on music from the Rock, Pop and R&B genres.

We only formed last year but already members of The Line-Up featured in the Meteor Christmas ad campaign ‘Let’s get Christmassy’ which aired nationally on radio and television in 2012. We also staged our debut gig in The Sugar Club to a sell-out audience and volunteered our services for ‘The Mansion House Fuel Fund’, which helped raise money for the Simon Community and St Vincent de Paul charities. More recently we performed live on The KC Show on Today FM and we also performed at the VVIP Awards.

Hey, do you have to audition to join the choir? What are the membership fees?

    Thanks

    Hi Linda

No I don't hold auditions for new members. Membership for the term is usually €100 for 10 weeks but you can check out the choir for free with a taster session before you sign up for a term and then we can have a chat afterwards to see if the choir is the right fit for you. We are an independent choir so we are not affiliated to any church or other organisation. I teach by ear so you do not need to be able to read sheet music and the choir is divided into three harmony parts: Soprano, Alto and Tenor and we cover songs from the Pop, R&B and Rock genres.

So if you would like to come along to a taster session please let me know. The 11 bus stops right outside the entrance to the school and the Stillorgan stop at the Green Luas is only a 10 minute walk away.

    Best Wishes
