    Hi All,

Can someone please recommend a good book for explaining the various technical indicators and their uses in analysing the financial markets. I am fairly new to this topic but have a strong interest in it and am looking to increase my knowledge.

    Many thanks!

stockcharts.com covers a lot and is laid out well, good place to start. Here's a list of books i've read:

Alexender Elder - Come into my trading room and trading for a living. Best i've read and i'd recommend reading first and above the others. One of them pretty much covers the other, not sure which, so when you've read one you'll fly through the other.

John J. Murphy - Technical Anaylsis of the financial markets - Like stockcharts.com, you wouldn't need to look at both really. Runs through the basics of absolutely everything.

Stan Weinsteins - Secrets-Profit-Markets - Is again like stockcharts and Murphys book. Not much need for it if you've covered either of the others.

Michael J. Parsons - Channel Surfing: Riding the Waves of Channels to Profitable Trading - More detailed anaylsis of channels and trendlines.

Mark Douglas - Trading in the Zone - More centered on trading psychology. Good read, would look at it after stockcharts and elders books.

TraiderGuider - Master the markets - General book on things to look out for. Quite short.

Thomas Demark - New Market Timing Techniques - Only starting this now but good so far. A bit more advanced.

You can find most if not all of these books in .pdf here:
