Car door damaged

    Hi all,

Looking for some advice on an issue I have with my rear door of my 02 Avensis. Looks like someone stuck a screwdrive under the seal and tried to pull the door out at the to of the rear door at the point where it meets the front passenger door. It is pulled out a fraction and there are scratches on the paintwork at this point. Doesnt look particuarly bad, but trouble is it leaks quite badly into passenger area. Going through carwash you can see water coming in.
Any easy way of fixing this?

Thought about trying to slightly align door by heating it and bending top in. Also wondered if putting extra seal around inside of door would help?

Dont really want to go to body shop as would probably be expensive. If I have to though I will.

    Any help greatly appreciated.

    Thanks
    Chris

Easiest and cheapest way, won't leave you with a perfect finish though, is to bend it back.
Put your knee up against the top of the door sill and pull the very top of the door frame into you.

Thanks Keith. I assume I put the window down befor doing this? Saw someone on you tube doing something similar. Afraid I would break the glass!

Wind the window down..... and take it easy on the frame.

Sorry, yes window down and apply slow steady pressure, don't jerk it.
Check it regularly as well. Apply a little pressure check it by closing the door and then next time apply a little more pressure, repeat until it's flush.
You might get a tiny little rippling where the door frame meets the door but if you do it right you'll be left with it perfect.
Edit; with modern cars having reinforced doors and frames don't be alarmed if you find yourself almost having to hang off the door to apply enough force.
But as I said, start off with a little pressure and work you're way up to brute force.

Just bend it back in. You will surely get it 90% right.
