Georgian Bar or One/one Sash windows?

    Hi All,
I am trying to make up my mind as to whether we should put Georgian bar or plain one/one timber sash windows into our period house. My OH loves the idea of the Georgian bar but my concerns are that they might restrict light (we are limited to the original window openings in the house and are probably stuck for Natural light as it is) and also the cleaning and maintenance end of them as well. Are they difficult to clean, sand and paint compared to the one/one alternative. There is also a 10K difference in the price between them!
Any advice from anyone that has one or the other would be great
    Thanks
