Following on from the other rather depressing thread, What's your best Cheltenham memory? Be it a big price winner or any winner at all, Your favourite horse winning or anything.

Mine would be paddys day in 2011, One of those days when everything just went right, Had amigayle e/w in the byrne group, Noble prince, Albertas run, Big bucks and then Junior topped it all off. Probably my most succesful days gambling.

Buena Vista had him 20/1 both years he won the Pertemps. Jumped super out in front 2 years ago. Love that horse.

Backing both Berties Dream 33s and Pigeon Island 25s at the final day of Cheltenham in 2010 in singles and an each way double. Favourite day I've ever had as a punter.

The Tank that was Denman running Kauto Star into the ground in The Gold Cup :D Loved that horse and if he hadn't of had so many problems he definitely would of won more than 1 Gold Cup.

I backed Noland, B Inca, D Doire, N Jack. If Accordion Etoile had won the arkle i would have been waiting on artists muse for the jackpot, i would have needed new underpants.

i backed Barizan for the triumph in 2010 at 90 to 1 on betfair and 14 to 1 to place 2 months before the race as he fitted the trends! had already been having an unreal festival profit wise when he was backed off the boards from 33 to 14s, went out front from the start and he was leading by 20 lengths turning for home! most unreal commentary of a race and even though he got caught in the end was a surreal feeling watching the race!

Personally Newmill in the 2006 Champion chase. Was a big fan of that horse and had picked him to win. He did it very well. Ran the legs off the opposition.

Betting wise last year on the Wednesday I had Teaforthree who I had backed twice once on the day and ante-post was extremely confident he would win and then I got a tip for Son of flicka only put a small bit on but was delighted with the result.

Stick on the headphones, turn volume up to last, and finally enjoy.

Probably my best ever cheltenham was dawn run beating wayward lad in the gold cup...15/8 fav i think.i didnt do a bet in the cup that year, but when jonjo came storming up the hill to win on what was one of my fav horses i genuinely had tears in my eyes, i will never forget it.

Was over on a jolly a good few years ago. Being entertained in the corporate sector. Having drank a glass of Champers, I explained to the hostess, that Jameson was my drink ---- She (beautiful blond, long shapely legs and tits to die for) returned with a FULL BOTTLE to me!!!!.Backed 3 winners , and floated home.

1997 was the year I most remember. In the first two days, I had only one winner at a poxy price, despite backing horses in all the races. Was so pissed off (and quite frankly broke!) that I cut my vacation short and went back into work for the Friday. Found a forgotten tenner in my jacket pocket going out to work that morning, so I said I would use the £2.50 to get lunch and do a 50p lucky 15 with the rest of the money. Was only on a 30 minute break at lunchtime, so I rushed into the bookies on my break. The only horse I was definitely sure of doing was called Fantus in the Foxhunter, it had won the previous year but yet no one seemed to be paying it any attention. Commanche Court was the next horse I picked, because I had seen a few weeks before where it won easily. For the life of me, I can't remember the next horse, but the one that always stands out to me was a horse called Mr Mulligan in the Gold Cup. I hadn't a clue about the horse, but I did remember that the young jockey onboard had been pretty bullish about his chances, and had been riding superbly all week. Anyway, the horse won at 20/1 with the jockey being none other than Tony McCoy :)

    Won over £7k that meeting.

Junior 2011 in the Kim Muir, Paddys day. €150 5/1. Won by about 20 lengths and the queue to collect in the bookies was as long.

Easy Oiseau De Nuit, winning the final race a few years ago. Myself an my brother were the only ones chearing (seriously the only ones). I was stupidly confident that he was a silly price, and tipped him up in a few places here included that morning. We got 50/1 just before the race, and he hosed up..

Slight Regret that i also had Nearby 3rd in the Coral Cup at 80/1 same day for a great payout in a EW Patent (and he could have got up with a better ride).

I had him backed on course at 50s, on betfair at 65, the patent, and he won me a cheltenham compo going from last to first in the last race:D.

In fairness Cheltenham is the only place a horse of that class can go of at 50/1

The first time I attended, think it was 2006 gold cup day. Large bet on Detroit city. He won handy enough and paid for my trip.

In college at the time, barely had the bus fare home and I strolled across to the betting office to throw my last few euro on a horse I had been mad to back at 33s.

I watched the race in pure disbelief as he made a burst for home but was slowly but surely reeled in while one of my friends was constantly in my ear saying "oh he's going to be caught"....

The horse I'd backed was Hairy Molly.

Followed that up with a tasty 11/10 fav in Huntingdon(?) Sir Jimmy Shand was his name, funny how I remember that.

Total Enjoyment winning champion bumper paddys day in 2004..got stuck in big time on the day..had the underpants, socks and tie on it, all or nothing...After he won I ran down to the parade ring and started singing the Fields of Athenry steamboats, ended up that night dancing on tables in the Irish oak pub..:D

Had 50e each way on Skys The Limit in the Coral Cup back in the 2005 or 2006. I think he was 12/1 or 14/1.

I was watching ATR where they show the Cheltenham horses work after racing at Leopardstown, I think they still show it.

Well this grey horse went around on the bridle with some horses of Willie Mullins' I think. The grey won this schooling race easily, I was waiting for Gary O'Brien to tell me who the horse was as the camera followed him around and eventually, just as the horses came intro the straight someone told O'Brien it was Skys The Limit and i immediately took note of him.
And the rest as they say is history.
Possibly the easiest winner of the Coral you'll see :D

Had a 10er on punjabi in the Champion Hurdle at 49s on betfair. Remember working in Merrills watching the race in the corner of my screen and being so tense when the 3 of them jumped the last together and were climbing the hill.

In the same year I had a superheinz. Cant remember all the horses in it but 4 won I think of the 7.
90th Minute (14/1), Weapons Amnesty (10/1), L'Ami (7/4)(was beaten by garde Champetre), Zaynar (5/1) (won triumph) and something else won and was assured of 2.5k. If Neptune Collonges won the Gold Cup I was getting 13k. Needless to say his stablemates beat him. Great week though.

Had Barizan too couple of years ago. What a race that was !!!

Won tickets for 2 to Gold Cup day 2006 with Blue Square, they also gave us a £100 bet each on the Gold Cup on the day, having listened to everyone on the bus on the way down from Stratford upon avon we went 50ew on War of Attrition and Hedgehunter and split the winnings.

presume biggest Cheltenham regret is not doing £100 reverse forecast instead ;)

imperiall calls brilliant gold cup vitory in 96,, what a horse he was,, and the triple decker of hardy eustace, moscow flyer and kicking king in 2005.. magical meeting that was and all 3 were magnificent..... one other day was when sizing europe won the champion chase,, had him at 10/1 and he was one of 4 winners i had that day :)
but for me imperiall call's win was the best had been tellin everyone to get on him and many couldnt see passed one man but i knew "the call" would beat him,, he had the gears, brilliant jumping, the class and stamina to do it there and on any other course for that matter :)
