    Hi

I live in a 4 bed semi d. One bedtoom is downstairs, the other 3 upstairs. We are joined to the neighbours by what i call the garage room. Its really the downstairs bedroom but easier call it that. A few years ago i got the attic above the garage room converted and i use a stria to access it. I guess with a growing family etc i am looking for a better way to access the room. The stira is in the utility and there isnt enough room for a stairs. I was looking at a space saver stairs but i still dont think i have enough room. The layout in the joining side is bedroom, toilet and utility.
When i was getting the attic converted he said the pitch in the attic was about 3 steps from the top of the stairs, so you couldnt really put a down in half way up a wall. The landing then was too far past the pitch and the roof was already on the way down.

So i guess what i am asking, is there anyway to do either:
    1. change the pitch on the roof, no higher than currently is, but have a flat roof to extend to the landing at the top of the stairs.

    or

    2. Change the stairs so can access the room from 3 steps from the top.

    I hope you follow that.

    thanks

those sound like questions that are very specific to your particular situation and are practically impossible to answer from the remove of a public forum.
