Great words that aren't in common use

Do you come across words occassionally that are not common but that you totally love? A word that you want to put into use at the next available opportunity? I heard one earlier:

Accubation - The act or posture of reclining on a couch, as practiced by the ancients at meals.

Have you learnt any new words recently that you'd like to share?

As this is AH I'm obviously expecting the usually puerile ones like "tittywank" etc so if there's a more suitable forum Mods please move... :)

Merkins were originally worn by prostitutes after shaving their genitalia, and are now used as decorative items.
Used with matching pasties lots of burlesquers.

Lol, it's actually one of my favourite words as well and that's why I chose it as my username.

I think it originally dates back to Tudor times or before. Prostitutes wore a merkin to cover up repulsive boils and carbunkles on their fanjitas caused by syphilis and other STDs of the time.....charming

Lol. I'd just like to clarify that it was merely the etymology of the word that appeals and that my moniker is in no way representative of the state of my own fanjita which thankfully is devoid of pus-filled carbuncles or boils.
