    Hi guys,

Thinking of selling my sony a230 and going to a nikon on others recomendations.

Budget is fairly tight and I would like a bit of advice please :o

A: which one would you pick from the d5100 and the d3200??
Im not really worried about to many things like iphone sharing or gimmicky stuff.

B: are either of the above enough of an upgrade from the sony?
I'm fairly comfortable at this stage with all camera controls but dont want to be stuck with a camera that isnt any better than my previous.

Again I cant really see me stretching my budget as im saving for a wedding and day to day living.

    thanks in advance guys

    Hi Pablo,

Of those two cameras you mentioned I would be swaying more towards the 3200. The 5100 with it's swing out LCD is just not for me. If you are in to your video then it is the camera to consider more but if it is stills you are interested in then I would be inclined to go for the 3200. It is the DSLR I would recommend to every person interested in buying their first good DSLR.

Anyway, apart from the camera, you are best off getting the best bang for your buck in terms of the camera and spending more money on the lenses. This should always be the case but people tend to get wrapped up in the latest camera model. Lenses, lenses, lenses all the way.

    Dunno if that helps any.
    Dave
