    Hi folks.

Myself and my wife are looking to go on a romantic night away next weekend but cannot decide where. I have been looking at Cork or Kerry but a lot of the 5 star hotels have bad reviews on TripAdvisor.

Can someone here recommend somewhere that's perfect.

    Cheers.

Hi, I've not actually stayed there, but have heard very good reports on The Cliff House Hotel in Ardmore, Co. Waterford. Food is supposed to be excellent there. Might be worth checking out.

    Never mind TripAdvisor

the follwing are very good 5* hotels in Killarney

    Aghadoe Hights
    The Europe
    The Killarney Park

You counld also try the Muckross Park, what was upgraded to 5* a few years ago.

So there is no 5* hotel in Cork or Kerry worth visiting because of bad reviews in Tripadvisor?

And you will only accept 'somewhere that's perfect'.

You've probably been reading reviews written by people like yourself i.e. people who can never be satisfied. I'd hate to be running a hotel and have to meet your lofty standards.

You're seriously telling us that places like Sheen Falls & The Park in Kenmare aren't worth visiting?

That comes across very condescending, the OP is probably just trying to organise the best break he can, why didn't you just recommend Sheen Falls & The Park and leave it at that

Kenmare is lovely and I would pick the Sheen Falls over the Park but both are great.

We stayed here Saturday night its a fine spot but the food is very dear for what you get. The place is very nice though and well finished.

No but I meant too. Castlemartyr is nice but very conservative and posh, I stayed in the Avenue in Killarney last weekend and enjoyed it a lot more.
