    In 2009 Keith Barry's granddad died as a result of a burglary in his home in Waterford. To date no-one has been charged. If you are from Waterford or if you have any information no matter how insignificant you think it may be or how trivial it is - please speak with the Gardai or Crime Stoppers. 1800 25 00 25 - Call this number, its a free and confidential number. There is a Crime Stoppers reward in relation to this crime.

    This crime was featured this evening on Crimecall tonight on RTE - it will be available on the RTE Player tomorrow for those who want to look back and see if anything jogs your memory. Its about 15-20 mins from the end.

    This was a high profile case in Waterford and hence why a renewed appeal has been shown on Crimecall. There has been an increase in break-in/theft in Waterford and what happened to Paddy Barry could happen to someone else - a friend, a family member, a relation and so on.

    As with any crime, even smaller crimes which can lead to bigger offenses down the road, any information that is small or big can be useful to Gardai investigating. It might not make sense immediately but when pieced together with other reports or evidence, it may form a bigger important picture.

    One of the main points of the appeal , was that the intruders , took an escape route down the alleyway that links to Lower Yellow Road , as its known that they dropped something there ,

    Had a look too but couldn't find it, just a link directing me to the Garda website. Found a Boards thread which says apparently that RTE don't add it to the Player for some unknown reason :confused:

    I have contacted RTE for clarification on that.

    EDIT: Their response;
    Thank you for contacting RTÉ player with your query.

    We are trying to put as many programmes in the Player as possible. However, we need to secure the internet rights from all of the relevant copyright holders and regret that we do not have the rights to include Crimecall in the RTÉ Player.

    Unfortunately elements within the programme cannot be cleared for on-demand and we are unable to make it available post broadcast as a result.

    Not sure what would be considered a problem within. Its an Irish company who produced this for two public bodies (The Gardai and RTE). Seems completely daft you can't watch such an important program back.

    Hope this fresh appeal works.
    A little rant about RTE, they show rubbish shows on their player but won't show something as important as Crimecall??
