Singles Sweep Stableford

    Can anyone explain the above competition format to me. What is it exactly is it just a standard stableford comp.

    we used to play a sweep every saturday morning,basically it was 8 or 12 of us would pay 10e a head,and the best score would take the pot,thats my understanding of a "sweep" anyway.
    that would have been played amongst ourselves,nothing to do with the club,
    if its your club thats holding this competition it sounds like just another name for, as you say a standard s/ford competition.
    could be way wrong here though,would be interested to find out

    Have a few "Sweeps" down our club usually run concurrently to another comp which had some sort of qualification criteria.

    eg Club Cup, played over 2 weekends, best 36 hole score wins, sweep on 2nd weekend for people who missed week one or Medal Final for qualifiers from monthly medals and sweep for non qualifiers

    It ensures there is a comp for everyone
