Hi, I have been on illness benefit for a number of years, I have been to many medical assessments. I get so stresssed about them as I never know if my payment will be stopped.I had an assessment last thur and feel sick at the thoughts of payment been stopped.I want to ring the department and ask them if the deciding officer has made their decision but my partner keeps telling me to wait and see if I get a letter. Has anyone rang after the assessment ? I would appreciate any advice...thank you

If you hear nothing in within a week of the appointment you are generally in the clear.
This one of the few areas in social welfare where they are very efficient at making fast decisions.

They really should send out a letter saying you are still being paid. I feel your pain, after 10 years I have finally moved to Invalidity pension and the relief is immense.
