Hi guys I want to get into some races outside of my club races, I find it much easier to find triatlons and duathlon races and just running races which I have signed up for or will be doing, I find it impossible to get public bike races I have a cycling licence and I have looked at cycling Ireland but there is nothing in Leinster or surrounding areas. If anyone knows of any please can you send me a link. Cheers

At 20k you would have to be looking at time trials. In a road race 20k is about the distance when things just about get going. The shortest road races I've seen in the CI calendar are around 50-60k.

A 20kms race would take about 30 minutes ..... not nearly long enough for all the P.E.D.s I've been taking to come into effect! ;)

Dublin Wheelers GP for A4's is 42km. It's on the 2nd March in Summerhill.

If you prefer short races then you're better off sticking with the sprint duathlon/triathlon

As said, anything under 40km in the open races is a time trial and not a group start.

I do them but I want a few solo races before I get at them as last year I cam in at the last two races of the season so I had no experience, good point I might look into the longer races or TT when I buy my new bike. Cheers
