I'm hoping someone on here can steer me in the right direction. I'm getting married in August but I'm not wanting to go down the morning suit route. Attachment not found. i have attached a pic of the type of thing I'd like to go for. But I'm struggling to get anywhere in Ireland that rents out stuff like this...Its the Image on the right I'm looking to go for...waistcoat and pants,

Was basically told at a wedding fair a the weekend that I had no hope of getting it...

So I'm hoping with all the knowledge of the mighty boards users that ye might be able to point me towards someone who could rent this kind of stuff out.

Have you actually tried any shops to ask?
I doubt the wedding fair people would steer you in the right direction, rather try and push their overpriced cookie cutter suits on you.
I think you'll look very handsome in something like you've chosen.
It can't be that difficult to get pants and a waistcoat.
Does it have to be hired?

I have mailed a few shops alright. In Dublin area more-so than where I am. So I'm hoping they get back to me with a positive response. As for renting it would be considerably cheaper to rent than to have to buy. I have 4 groomsmen and a father of the bride to kit out.

Im looking to go something similar, like a vintage look.

havent really found anything yet but I did get some good advice from a shop that does rentals and he said if I did get something i liked that you could rent the other suits which would cut the costs and leave you standing out from the rest of the grooms men which I kind of liked.

    anyway hope you get sorted.

I think it would be lovely to have the groom in something like that and then groomsmen in normal nice pants and shirt, matching bridesmaids.

I honestly had not thought of that until it was said to me :o

I was beating myself up about wanting to wear something I would be comfortable in but knowing the rest of the groomsmen would not be and had resided myself to just go with hiring my own...

Its amazing what shops will do to get your buisness these days... ie. be honest with you!!

Im looking for something similar. Have 4 groomsmen to kit out. Looking for fitted navy/blue suits. Would much prefer to rent rather than buy 4 suits but i am struggling to find a place that rents fitted suits.

Anyone any ideas? In the DUblin area...

My personal opinion go with the first one image in your attachment (the one on the left) as I think the other one looks like it is a linen mix and would crease very easily and could look a bit sloppy in the photos if it is creased.

There are loads of 'suit' outlet shops - my own husband got a suit similar to the one on the left about a year ago, lovely stone/cream colour. No waistcoat, but getting a waistcoat made to co-ordinate wouldn't be a big issue I can't imagine. He bought his suit here

It cost less than €200 IIRC

That's hilarious! I came across that photo as well OP, when I was researching suits! I was going for a similar sort of vintage summer wedding smart-casual look. It's fecking hard to find that style in reality though. Most suit hire places do the traditional style that just isn't fitted enough. So basically I figured out that if you were particular about getting that style you could
    (a) get it made
    (b) piece it together yourself from a combination of high-street shops (like Zara, Debenhams and a few others)
    (c) compromise and find the most similar thing in a suit rental place.

We went with option C eventually, though I did spot 3 lovely Paul Costello waistcoats in TK Maxx and bought them on a whim, but ended up returning them a week later.

We were looking for a light grey fitted suit, possibly to be worn without the jacket. Found a place in Cork called Lapel 1865 http://lapel1865.ie/ that gave a great service and understood exactly what we wanted. If we'd been pickier on colour etc we could have had a bespoke suit made to buy, but obviously this would be much more expensive.

Also found these handy links if they're any good to ye:
