    Hi Guys,

I'm have a bit of a prob with my nexus 7 running android 4.2.2. Completely stock, never rooted.
I purchased it last November in Heathrow airport... not sure if i still have the receipt. It's the 32GB version.

Anyway... everything had been going fine up and until a few days ago when i noticed that while it was plugged into the usb port of my computer while transferring music I would notice the battery life deplete, despite showing as charging.

after transferring music I put it into sleep mode and left it while at 40% battery (disconnected from everythign at this stage).

The next day I came back and battery was at 16%.

I connected it to the OEM Asus charger that came with it and left it. After 6 hours I came back to the battery icon showing it was charging but only 19% battery remaining. It had taken 6 hours to charge 3% !!! No background tasks were running.

I found a thread that suggested letting the battery completely die out, then connect to charger and hold down volume down and power until get into the debug menu and from there selected power off. Then and only then attach the cable to charge it again (this doesn't make any sense to me but some people look to have been having success with this). Anyway, long story short. It didn't work and my device barely charges to 4% in 5 - 6 hours.

I've also tested charging via usb port and confirmed that the adapter is working.

    I'm totally stumped on this.

I've tried calling asustek http://support.asus.com/hotlines.aspx?SLanguage=en support number for Ireland 0035-31890719918 but nobody answers?!

Has anybody ever experienced anything like this ? What is my recourse ?!

    Thanks,
    r1_2010

Power off the device while charging and let it charge overnight (keep it off).

Are you using a different USB cable / plug charger other than OEM? Have you ever used a different plug charger from like HTC / Sony etc?
