When ordering parts is left your left when sitting on the bike?

My right hand shifter just arrived and it's a left hand shifter :(

Right side is drive side as far as I know.

In Ireland and Britain, right is on the right but in the USA and other parts of the world, right is often on the left.

Anything I've ordered from Europe is stage left and stage right (i.e. the right-hand shifter is the one on your right as you're sitting on the bike).

They switch brakes in other parts of the world, where they drive on the other side of the road, but right remains right and left remains left everywhere;)

I ordered from Chain Reaction so I'm guessing their left is the same as our left!

    The item.....

    http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/Models.aspx?ModelID=29060

    My order.....

    Products Ordered:
1 Shimano Sora 3400 Triple 9 Speed STI Lever - RH Rear
    ID: 158495
    Unit Price: 60.47 EUR

I hope RH stands for Right Hand :o

I does, and you should have received the one on the left when looking at the picture on the CRC site

    Thats a relief!

Yes I should have got the one on the left (in the picture), but I didn't.

This follows a 4 week run around with Rose over the same parts.

To say I was p***ed off when I opened the box today was an understatement. CRC website saying both left and right are sold out now, so looks like I'll be waiting a bit longer
