mate of mine was selling his car and I decided that I was gonna buy it off him, so I got the logbook and transfered it into my name, My mate needed to hold onto the car for a few more weeks so I thought no problem, Little did I realise that he was gonna be going through the tolls every f*cking day. Long story short they sent me a bill for 270 euro and my mate refuses to pay itmad.pngmad.png

Now I rang the Eflow people on thursday and they said they may be able to help me out and minimise the amount owed to them. She said they may be able to forget about the penalty charges of 40 euro and instead put the tolls back to 6.10 each journey, have they done this deal for anyone else?

Many people have told me not to pay them and just bin all the bills. A lot of people seem to think nothing will happen if i refuse to pay??

I wouldnt think of binning bills but it has me stressed out and I even sold the car as I lost my job and money is extremely tight so this is the last thing I needmad.pngmad.png

For starters he doesn't sound like much of a mate! Anyway, I ran up 30 unpaid tolls on the m50 about 2 years ago. €3 each amounted up to €100 each, which totalled €3000. After much worry, and acknowledging of my own stupidity, I called up and pleaded my case in a very polite manner and told them i'd be willing to sign up to one of their tags for the car. I got the total reduced to what I originally owed, €90 for the 30 tolls which I was happy to pay. I think the fact that I had paid for some tolls during the time, hence showing that I just didn't think ' f**k them and their tolls', might have helped them see that I was just clumsy and not rebellious to their toll charges. They can help you OP, it just depends on how you approach them and what kind of a day the person on the other end of the phone is having, best of luck.

He's no longer your mate and I hope you have the car now and he's not allowed to sit in it.

Well I rang them on thursday there was 15 unpaid journeys, 5 of them belong to the new owner and I paid 2 of them on thursday, so I suppose it isnt to bad, the women told me the bill has come up to 300 euro but also said there should be no problem reducing the amount..

Lesson well learnt lads, I'll never let anyone drive around in a car thats in my name again :rolleyes:
