How to stop clay sculpture cracking???

Hey, Hoping someone will help me out. I sculpt a lot in clay but the clay cracks after a few months. I have heard that you can put the sculptures in pressure ovens, but I don't know much about this. Is there any way of preventing the clay cracking? If I wanted to glaze a sculpture how would I go about it??? Thanks! :)
