There not full HD. Only HD ready. Hence why there so cheap.

Yea MPEG-4 will pick up the irish digital but not digital teletext or rte interactive services when they decide to launch it.

Thanks, not too bothered about the HD part to be honest (should I be?). If a tv has the saorview label, will it pick up the digital teletext/rte interactive services when they launch?

I don't think "Full HD" (the correct term is supposed to be "HD Ready 1080p" as God knows what it'll be called if 4K comes in... Fuller HD?) is important on a 32" size screen.

If the TV is Saorview approved, then yes, it should work fine with digital text and interactive services - it needs to in order to get certified. So I'd stick with the certified models.
