I didn't know where a request like this would go so I thought I'd throw it into AH. Relocate as you wish Mods...

I have a baby video monitor and the cable for the power is just about shagged (the plastic around the wire has worn away and the wires inside are exposed and breaking). It happens just before the wire enters the plug and it is one of those plugs that you can open....so my question is...

Where could I buy a new power adaptor for this monitor?

    Input: 100-240VAC 50/60Hz 150mA
    Output: 6v 500mA

1082 posts and you chose to post here.

C'mon man, the Mods have better things to do than find a suitable place for your query. Have you tried the Helpdesk?

I said move if they wish....I didn't ask them to.

I honestly looked through all the categories and didn't see one suitable. If someone does know of one...I'll ask in there no problem. I need to pick one up tomorrow and didn't know how long it would take for help desk to get back to me.

    The helpdesk ;-)

It was so much easier to blame it on Them. It was bleakly depressing to think that They were Us. If it was Them, then nothing was anyone's fault. If it was us, what did that make Me? After all, I'm one of Us. I must be. I've certainly never thought of myself as one of Them. No one ever thinks of themselves as one of Them. We're always one of Us. It's Them that do the bad things.

Argos.maplin. Pound shops. Ebay harvey norman.

Ooor, and this is the best cheapest solution, make sure the inner wires aren't touching and just heat shrink the broken part up onto the plug. Zero point five cents worth of heat shrink

Like all mods I keep a hand crafted and meticulously maintained list of all those who've wronged me, be they imagined slights or otherwise.

OP did you try turning it off and on again?

    Is it plugged in?

Are you sure it's plugged in?

    Can you check again please?

Splice the cable and wrap it with an entire roll of electrical tape. That's how a man would do it.

I think the McCanns had the same problem.
