the question in this thread has come up loads of times before but I never remember a reply from anybody actually using one.So is it a case that aload of people are using them on the quiet and don't want to discuss it on a public forum or is it a case that nobody in fact has them in the first place ?

You need to give the, a reason why you want it and what kind of sight you want. The chances of being granted authorization are slim. Your best bet for finding out would be to ring your super and ask him or say you would like to get one etc.. he is the one who will grant it or refuse it.

Could of course just do as any modern military does.Get a holosight that is NV compatible and a head mounted NV goggle or monocular..;)
Its also abit more versitile in it's usage too.
Costs about the same as a good dedicated NV scope, and has about the same range as the more advanced Russian Gen 2a units.
Really need some NV scopes to be mounted on a dedicated rifle,as some of them are despite makers claims a PITA to re zero and remount.
