    I think it's a combination of things. She seems to have fine hair and probably uses the wand on high heat setting which would be bad for her hair type. She holds the hair for far too long on the wand. And somebody in the comments were saying that some products shouldn't be used before using heat. It is very freaky.

    Is it just me or is the section she used tiny? That, thin hair, and leaving it way too long on the wand.
    I leave the thinnest sections on my tongs for five seconds. And that's on the second lowest heat. It still freaked me out although I know it's not going to happen next time I curl my hair.
