I looked at a New Holland Tl 90 and on start up from cold it was quite stuttery and smoky but cleared in a minute.. I was just wondering are they like that or is there a problem with it ... Any thing else I should look for? I would be greatfull for any info. Thankyou..

Have a TL90A It knocks like hell when you start it for a minute or so or until you rev it up, no smoke though think the service man called it diesel knock and said not to worry about it
Having said that ours is 05 with 3000 hrs and has had a few hefty repair bills, with clutch packs for high/low and solenoids for forward/reverse, which is sort of turning me off considering new holland in the future, even though its a nice machine to work use

Thanks F.D This one has 3600 hours supposedly and is on its origional tyres so id say hours are ok.It is a manual suttle type. Just wondered about the splutters and knocks and smoke . If I thought it was an issue I would walk away.. Is yours a power shuttle?

Yes ours is a power shuttle, to be fair the lad that does our baling uses a Tl 90 for mowing and baling and has no problems with it, ours could have been a monday morning one !!
