    Hi,
Would 172,000km be considered high for a 2009 diesel?
This car is lovely but wondering if the milage would put you off a bit?
    Cheers,
    pa.

It's 43,000 KM per year which is high enough mileage per year, probably owned by a rep or something. For a diesel engine IMO it's still fine in terms of the engine capable of that mileage, but personally I would be buying something with lower miles if you intend on keeping for a while. Better options out there?

Very high mileage, It doesnt mean that there is any major problem provided you have a full service history. There is bound to be a lot of wear-and-tear like suspension bushings, starter motor, alternator etc. Also engines lose efficiency as the mileage builds up. Still if it's going at the right price and it's generally in good nick, why not?

Ya milage is pretty high but seems to be reflected slightly in the price compared to other S40s. Depends on whether you really want the car. If you're spending 12 grand you can easily get a 1.6dl good quality with alot less mileage and prob a year newer also.

It all depends on the condition of the car really but it's well above average for a four year old car.

At least you know the millage is genuine on that motor...

I've been on the look out for a Diesel estate, and for example in one case I found an 08 with 85k miles, but when I did a UK cartell on it I found it had left the UK with 20,000 more miles than that 2 years ago.... So be carefull about low-miler diesels, esp. UK imports, in my experience they are all clocked...esp. from side of the road dealers...

That is a UK import S40 SE, one of the few cars where the similar Irish model is higher spec. Irish model has leather seats on the SE model as standard and is a must on any Volvo imo. Colour is very dull too which makes the car look older than it actually is imo.

I'd rather drop back a year for something like this if it is genuine:
