(didn't get a picture, hence why it's not in the picture thread)

Admittedly it wasn't today, it was the other night, but you get the general idea.

Anyone else pass/passed by anything interesting?

in Dublin, in the space of an hour, I passed an Austin Healy (100/4 I think) and while walking through Fairview I was passed by a nice '59 Ford Zodiac. Never seen so much chrome on 1 car!

What's the point in this thread? It's basically 'Today I Saw A Classic' without pictures.

It'll keep the picture thread clear of this sort of thing for one.

Correct - I deliberately wanted it kept separate from the picture thread.

And sure why not? It's not doing any harm!

Cold but beautiful spring sunshine here today. Met one of my neighbours taking his Morgan trike out for a quick spin. Too quick to get a snap but I'll keep an eye out for it again.

.......I actually know both of these cars and although completely unrelated to eachother there IS a link.

The 928 was bought as a 21st birthday present and is a one owner car, always garaged. Full Porsche history and regularly valeted. I do some work for the owner. It is not his daily car and probably hasnt seen much rain at all. He has some other classics which are low mileage and low owners.

The red 190SL is owned by a IVVCC member, who's name I wont divulge on-line, but he has a link to MDL. That car was also bought new in Ireland as a 21st present for a chaps daughter. It has always been maintained by the same person since new.

There's a Ferrari 360 in Donnybrook whose owner also received it as a 21st birthday present. The family are related to a well known property developer but are independently wealthy from a different business.

I think that's a reliable sign of just having too much money! What the hell would you want with a Ferrari in Ireland when you can't even use the thing properly, even more so, what would a 21 year old want with one?

Pull young wans in it maybe?
Go way over the speed limit on a deserted M9 at 6.00 on a Sunday morning?
Trash it over the Sally Gap on a summers day?
Take it on a summer trip around Europe?
    Max it on an Autobahn?
Park it on the seafront in Monaco and watch the world go by?
Full blast up the Grossglockner, Stelvio, Col de l'Iseran and dozens of other great mountain roads/
Lap of Spa or the Nuerburgring?
    Just cruise around in it?
    Ride more women?
