Liverpool City Council has unveiled plans to sell off up to 20 vacant houses for £1 each to help "drive up the quality of housing".
The sales are part of an initiative to bring 179 homes in Granby, Kensington and Picton back into use.
New owners would be expected to refurbish the £1 houses and live in them for at least five years.

I used to live in Liverpool and most people there would not live in them areas if you gave away them houses for free. The city council emptyed them areas out at the end of the 90's start of the 00' and were planning to knock them all down.

Wonder what kind of people want to live there now

Not far just behind the Royal Liverpool Hospital you could prob walk into town in 15 mins from there and be a lime street station

The Irish price for this would be at least €2.

Anyway, interesting idea - and if the area is a total dump, it can't really get any worse.
