Ok so I just bought a gaming pc a few week ago and thought to myself that I might try to overclock but then I realize that my Cpu isn't a "K" version so I can't overclock that but I'm now wonder if I can overclock anything else such as the Graphics card

    My specs are:

    • ASRock B75 Pro3, Sockel 1155, ATX
    • HIS HD 7850 1gb
    • Intel I5 3550
    • 8gb Ram
    • 450 watt Power supply

Hope I'm not making myself look like an idiot but I'm don't really know a lot about this sort of stuff so thought I might aswell ask :)

Your board is not capable of overclocking cpu's either. You need a z77 based board and a k series chip to overclock the cpu.

The gpu however can be overclocked from within windows and 7850's are great overclockers. Sadly that HIS cooler doesn't look up to much but you should still be able to overclock it a little.

Download MSI afterburner and read some guide's online. There should be plenty specific to the 7850 as it's a popular choice for overclockers.

I've never used their software so I couldn't tell you. I'm sure you can.

MSI's afterburner is widely regarded as the best tool for amd cards though and is usable on any brand of amd card.

Actually although I think Afterburner has much more functionality, I found iTurbo isn't bad if you have a HIS card, it has a nice minimalist UI and at default settings allows higher frequencies than afterburner (for my 7850 anyway 1200Mhz vs 1050MHz), without needing going to the hassle of unlocking afterburner etc).

I prefer Sapphire Trixx to be honest.

It has everything that one needs for overclocking, but the interface is clean, and it's really lightweight/ easy to use.

    Aye I use Trixxx myself.
