    Hi All,

I'm hoping someone can help here. I have an AEG dishwasher, recently the water stopped heating. My first thought was the heating element was gone. As I have no idea about plumbing etc I contacted a plumber and explained the problem, he agreed it was more than likely the element. He called out and replaced the element however it still did not heat the water. He mentioned something about a switch that can control when the element is activated..... and that it would be a small fix and probably only cost a few € and he would order this and let me know as soon as its in. I foolishly made the mistake of paying him for the heating element already replaced and I havent heard from him since!

Does anyone know if replacing this "switch" would be an actual sollution to my problem and is it something I could do myself? I dont want to have to pay another call out fee for another plumber if at all possible.

    Thanks

I cannot understand why you contacted a Plumber or how he could agree its the element without calling out first, non heating of the water can be caused by quite a few things, Thermostat, Heater, Programer, Wiring, if you say he now wants to replace the "switch" i presume your talking about the Thermostat if so i can't understand why he didnt test the Stat while on site or go for "the small fix" first, really sounds to me like you need to find yourself a Appliance Service Engineer.
