    Hi lads
basicly i came into some spare money and wanted to buy a new pc
just found out it would be wasted money since if i bought a new pc it would need custom stuff in it to run games on ultra high

so basicly i have a budget of 700e
my pc is old , low tech and can barely run any games from 6 years ago never mind last year

im looking for stuff that could possible run current games on ultra high and will do me until next year or two

    heres my pc specs

    Packard Bell BV
    Microsoft windows XP Home edition
    Processor : Intel(R) Celeron(R) D CPU 3.33GHz
    2gb ram
Graphics card : ATI Radeon HD 4550 , i think its 1gb? dont know what that means on a graphics card

can any of you guys recommend upgrades for my pc within 700e that will play games on ultra high
as you can see my processor is more outdated then my ram and graphics card because i updated them a few years ago
    would really appreciate it lads
i dont know the difference between processors and graphics cards so if you name two on the same thing could you please tell me the difference cause i havent a clue haha like if someone said get this intel r whatever and someelse mentioned a different processor i wouldnt know the difference
do you guys just know which ones better by age ? or is their more details about it

also if theirs any more info you need just let me know :)

Dump or sell the old computer I'd say and start from scratch. You'll probably need a monitor or do you plan on using a HD tv. Could you answer these questions to give a better idea. You'll need a brand new PC, very doable for 700 euro.

    1. What is your budget? [€xxx]

    2. What will be the main purpose of the computer? [Gaming/Video editing/3D Modelling/HTPC/Internet] (If gaming include which games)

    3. Do you need a copy of Windows? [Yes/No]

    4. Can you use any parts from an old computer? [Hard drive/DVD Drive/Case/PSU/etc.] (If possible state brand and model of the parts to ensure compatibility)

    5. Do you need a monitor? [Yes/No]

5a. If yes, what size do you need. [19'/20'/22'/24'/etc.]

5b. If no, what resolution is your current monitor and do you plan to upgrade in the near future? [1920x1080/1440x900/etc.] [Yes/No]

    6. Do you need any of these peripherals? [Keyboard/Mouse/Wireless Card/Card Reader/Speakers/etc.]

    7. Are you willing to try overclocking? [Yes/No]

    8. How can you pay? [Bank Transfer/Credit Card/Laser]

    9. When are you purchasing? [In x days]

    10. If you need help building it, where are you based? [South Dublin City/Cork City/Kerry/etc.]

    thanks mate

    1. What is your budget? 700 could probably stretch to 800 if needed

    2. What will be the main purpose of the computer? [Gaming/Video editing/3D Modelling/HTPC/Internet] : gaming , any current game out on high-ultra high settings

    3. Do you need a copy of Windows? [Yes/No] yes , i think most games run on windows7 and some dont run on windows8 can someone clerfiy this please?

    4. Can you use any parts from an old computer? [Hard drive/DVD Drive/Case/PSU/etc.] (If possible state brand and model of the parts to ensure compatibility) nope all to old i guess

    5. Do you need a monitor? [Yes/No] yes

5a. If yes, what size do you need. [19'/20'/22'/24'/etc.]19-20inch would do

5b. If no, what resolution is your current monitor and do you plan to upgrade in the near future? [1920x1080/1440x900/etc.] [Yes/No]

    6. Do you need any of these peripherals? [Keyboard/Mouse/Wireless Card/Card Reader/Speakers/etc.] i dont need speakers il be using headphones , wireless card? card reader? dont understand them two sorry im a noob :(

    7. Are you willing to try overclocking? [Yes/No] ? still dont understand ha

    8. How can you pay? [Bank Transfer/Credit Card/Laser] any way

    9. When are you purchasing? [In x days] when ever suitible not in a rush to be honest

    10. If you need help building it, where are you based? [South Dublin City/Cork City/Kerry/etc.] south dublin city but will probably get someone in a shop to build it or online to have it pre build for me

i dont understand computer specs at all so im gonna have to take your word for it lads so i appreciate it :)

Here is the link for them to build it for you http://lb.hardwareversand.de/Service/746/Rechner+-+Zusammenbau.article

It's another 30 euro if you want them to install the software including drivers. But, I'm sure your capable of doing that yourself.
    Item|Price
AMD FX-8350 Prozessor, Boxed, Sockel AM3+|€175.09
    BitFenix Merc Alpha|€31.96
    Super-Flower Amazon 80Plus 450W|€45.57
    ASRock 970 Pro3, AM3+, ATX|€60.89
    8GB-Kit Corsair XMS3 DDR3-1333 CL9|€44.09
    WD Caviar Blue 500GB SATA 3 6Gb/s|€49.34
    MS Windows 7 Home Premium 64bit SB-Version Englisch|€81.61
    BenQ G2255|€109.00
    Rechner - Zusammenbau|€20.00
    HIS HD 7770 GDDR5 1024MB DVI HDMI 2xMiniDP|€102.78
    Shipping|€18.99
    Total|€739.32
This is an AMD option. With windows and a monitor it's hard to get it with in your budget to run games on ultra high.

If you can increase your budget then I'd go with this card http://lb.hardwareversand.de/3072+MB/55042/Gigabyte+Radeon+HD+7950%2C+3GB+GDDR5%2C+PCI-Express.article

While assembling a PC is nerve racking it's not difficult at all. Many connections are colour coded and only fit were they should so you won't be plugging something into the wrong place by accident. If you ever played with technic lego as a young lad you'll have no problem building a PC.

yea it is a good graphics card but he has 800 quid to spend, not really a small budget. Bloodbaths looks the best. Can bring down the price to near 800 if you leave out the SSD and the gaming mouse. Excellent monitor in that build as well. Looks best bang for buck

He had 700 euro not 800 and I was trying to get it closer to that. It's very hard to do when you included W7 and a monitor. Now he says he can get his budget to 950 so, the 7950 is what I recommended in the end.

Edit: Sorry, I didn't see that he could stretch it to 800. So, yeah he could of done better then a 7770

thanks lads so i should get the 7950 instead of the 7770? still fits within my new budget i think , will probably get rid of the mouse pad in bloodbaths one as i already own a mousepad (should of mentioned it sorry)

If you want to save some money on your OS and you're in college you can use this website. They're selling it for 59.95

Yes. The 7950 is a superior card. Less price to performance but still way more performance than the 7850.
