sheep tagging

    I want to get my sheep flock in order

    My question is I have some old ewes who are not part of the new system of tagging. If 1 of these older ewes loose their tag, do I just replace with an old yellow tag, or do I need to get one of the new tags.

    Yes - I believe you can use an old tag.
    My understanding is sheep with old tags (born before 1 January 2010) can be re-tagged with old tags, and the replacement/re-taggng recorded in the flock register.
