Do principals care if their Irish teachers have been in the Gaeltacht?

Do Irish teachers get asked/judged on this? Even if you're a good teacher with an excellent CV, and references, etc... Will they turn you away--even if they're desperate for Irish teachers--if you haven't spent 3 months (or whatever it is) in the Gaeltacht?

I thought you needed at least three months in the Gaeltacht in order to register as an Irish teacher? Or is that just French?

Definitely not. Spending three months in the Gaeltacht does not equal a brilliant Irish teacher.

I don't care. However I do care that they have good irish and good classroom management and they have another equally good subject

If you haven't spent 3 months in the Gaeltacht does this make you ineligible to register for the teaching council as a Múinteoir Gaeilge? I've only spent 1 week in the Gaeltacht...
