The CSO has limited information on those areas.

Going back that far will be very difficult.

Even if regular CSO datasets do not exist from 1950s onwards, is there not some educational info in the census results? Failing that, maybe the department of education? (I am sure you'd would have to ask - doubt it'd be published even if it was available).

For foreign multinationals, I would usually say the IDA but they are relatively new (although maybe they have legacy info in some of their reports?). Failing that, ask the Department of Enterprise?

Data quality that far back could be difficult for Ireland.

The various census volumes have a lot of information on the numbers in employment in various industries and education levels.

    http://cso.ie/en/census/census20021996resultsandearliercensuses/historicalreports/

It's pretty comprehensive information as statistics from that time period go.
It's not available in a digitised format online, but the CSO themselves may be able to supply additional information.

but something tells me freez4real doesn't want to work that hard.

On the off chance that this is for an EC3090 project (or really, any econometics project for college), I'd strongly advise you to get a nice data set first, and then decide what your topic will be. I saw many people fail miserably trying to do it the other way around.

    Nah it was for EC307.

Assignment has been submitted but will be attempting to make another regression for the following assignment.

As some of you said finding excel data was impossible so I just used existing graphs and histograms, some were inaccurate.

    Aye.

Even every census from 1950 onwards would probably be insufficient observations-wise.

I wish I was better at the whole Stata thing.

    Yea I figured the same.

I'm not good at using statistics but thought I should use what I learnt in econometrics for once in my life. lol
