I am looking for some advise with regard to facing or sticking on granite to front of house.

I would first like to get advice on whether to do completely front of house or just partly?

Who are specialists in this area that I could ask their advice e.g killsarin or
    Road stone maybe????

    Would appreciate some recommendations please

    Thanks

DON'T DO IT! if you must use stone cladding please oh please dont just 'stick' it on the front of the house or on just a bit of the front of the house.

at the very least 'wrap' it around an element of the house so that it appears that element is completely stone. don't just stick it to the front wall -it will look cat. all you have to do is look around at the thousands of houses all over the country where others have done this already and they all look crap.

before you talk to the stone people, have a good think about what it is you want to achieve.

do you want to pick out an element that is particularly special, that is worth spending the money on?

do you want to partially clad a bit of the front elevation? (please don't)

is the house built already or in the design phase?

if its built you might have planning issues to deal with first.

it does add cost in terms of lintels and foundations (unless you use the really thin stuff, which can be considered to be giant tiles)

what do you hope to achieve by adding stone at all?

Not sure what you mean but my house is medium style farmhouse cottage/dormer and we have a granite wall that travels all the way in the entrance and continues around the house and leads to farm.

I wanted to have some stone feature to the house too!

What other options would I have?
I really love our granite wall and don't want to always be painting house

I would recommend that specialist be your architect!

I'm just wondering what peoples experiences are with these veneers of cladding, maybe an inch or two thick? Can or do they ever fall off is the adhesive really good, able to withstand frost (expanding water) in cracks etc?
I think they can look very well. Any recommendations on what firms are best / leaders in this field? Its for an extension to a relatives property in the midlands-I'll pass on any info.
