    Hi folks,

looking for 1/4" 20 threaded rod, ideally about a foot long but more would be fine so long as its cheap enough.

It's only being used for some simple tripod mounts for a small camera. I can't find it online at all. There is one on US amazon for $3 for 3' but they're looking for $60 postage!!

stainless steel would be fine, there is a few places selling nylon(?) threaded rod but I wonder is it strong enough or will it work well with a metal receiving thread.

Based in south Dublin and everywhere both stores and online only seem to deal in M thread sizes, which don't match up

Should be easily got. Most fastener stockists will have it. Tucks/JJ Freeney, profast, mac fasteners, all metal fasteners etc.

The 20 refers to the TPI (threads per inch) and is an imperial thread. Ask for 1/4" UNC or BSW threaded rod.

Failing that, get a 1/4" bolt/setscrew and attach that to something more accessible. If you're really stuck, I'm sure I'd have a bolt knocking about here.

thanks, emailed them all and most said they didn't do it, Freeny & Tuck said they'd have it in 2 weeks, but All metal fasteners put me in touch with the dublin nut and bolt co in ballymount who do it.

    Thanks for the help
