I was reading a few reports that Facebook are expanding their operations in Dublin and recruiting another 100 people.

I was just wondering if anyone on here works with Facebook? How difficult of a place is it to get a job in?

I only have three years experience in a Marketing role and Business degree behind me. The role I was looking at is for SMB Analyst.

Have a Facebook page and keep it clean. My guess is that anybody going for a job with Facebook will have their Facebook page checked out, because nowadays employers want to know the REAL person their employing and I would imagine they would get a sense of who you really are from you Facebook page.

I applied last night for a job, I have a college degree, but have been a stay at home Mom for 7 years. Though I think that can be classed as 7 years of a project management role, I am told they won't see it that way, I threw my hat in the ring anyway:)

Have you got a 2.1 degree or masters?
Are you fluent in any European language besides English?
Have you worked for any other large American multinational in Dublin like Google, Amazon, Twitter, Yahoo!, Microsoft, etc?

From my experience that seems to be the only way to get a job in Facebook.

If you have any of the above then check out www.glassdoor.com for more info on the hiring process.

Yeah it seems Facebook is another one of those companies like Google with a horribly difficult and drawn out recruitment process.
For any kind of IT role you basically need rainman like abilities when it comes to your area of expertise
