Actually I reckon Dusty Rhodes came up with that finish, it was not named a Dusty finish for nothing.

Its hard to see where Punk goes from here, especially if hes to face Taker at Mania. I was hoping to see a situation where both Rock and Punk were down, the lights go off, everyome expects the Shield, but its Taker who appears to cost Pink tje title, settimg them up for Mania.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 1,988 ✭✭✭SirDelboy18

Rock probably needs a triple threat to work a Mania in my opinion. Have him take a massive bump that keeps him out of over half the match, the other two carry it and then Rock comes back at the end - otherwise it will look so bad just him v Cena.

He defintely needs to work on his cardio more, but he was improved (slightly) compared to the Rumble. But what the hell was with that ending? Writers need to get their **** together and soon.

I dug the show, on the whole. Whooshed by, and kept occupied enough to not realize that Barrett didn't make the card in any form 'til about

The two duds Rocky and Punk have produced really has me fearing an uninspiring mania.

Actually the road to wrestlemania the last few years has been a bit "Meh".

So now, where do we go from here?

Does Taker reappear tomorrow night? I can see him sitting out this Mania and Punk facing either Sheamus, Orton or Jericho at Mania. I cant see why Punk would want to fight Taker, or vice versa after tonight.

Cant complain good card in general.
The Shield are the big positive to take.
The Rock blew hard but not as bad as RR. He has a few weeks to get his sh*t together for WM now.
ADR v Swagger will have a really good build up IMO. Its a step away from the PG era with the racism angle.
Can't see where Taker fits in now, maybe he's gonna give it a miss.
Hope to see Brodus/Tensai take off they could be a decent team and god knows their singles careers were going nowhere fast.

The Rock is basically on a whirlwind tour promoting movies before WM and making appearances on Raw, he will barley have time to get himself in shape, he could actually be worse.

Ugh then we r in for a treat with him and Jaaahhhnnn Cena :(
Don't think Cena can carry out the entire main event the way punk can. Providing breaks for Rocky

Good show, really enjoyed every match. Think people are being a bit too hard on The Rock though, his cardio isn't the issue, those rest holds are there to fill time. At the end of the day he's a full time Hollywood Star and a part-time main event Pro Wrestler, he can't be going full steam for 20 to 30 minutes straight in matches, increase the risk of injury and screw up his main source of income and delay multi-million dollar film productions not to mention Mania. Less is more in The Rocks and WWE's eyes when it comes to Rock's in-ring work.

Before the PPV I was expecting Henry to win. Then I watched Smackdown last noight and saw Henry Orton still feuding so figured they would have a mania match. Then guessed Jericho would win. Very happy Swagger won but was not expecting that angle to be part of mania. But it should be interesting.

Have not seen all the show yet but the chamber ending was very well done as was the whole match.

Show v Del Rio was top notch. Del Rio used his lucha background to perfection in the feud to make some really good matches. A lot of attacks on show can look terrible unrealistic but Del Rio is a big guy and him using his lucha moves actually looks credible. Actually all his offence looked good against show which is an achievement. Show was great and made Del Rio look a star.

Delighted Swagger won, should have a damn fine match with Del Rio at Mania now.

Not read feedback from others yet, so as not to bias my opinion.

Loved that show. Thought Swagger would win but wasn't 100% sure. Was pretty damn once he got a pre-match promo. Still him vs Del Rio should be very good. Really liked Rock vs Punk. Thought the ending was far better than their last match and enjoyed it over all.

Thrilled and shocked that Shield walked out with the win. Stunning, but by ****, they are building that trio up perfectly. Whoever gets the big win over them eventually is going to get some rub.

I just hope they don't decide the Shield vs Taker would be a good idea at Mania.

    They are being built superbly.

Taker could very well interrupt Lesnar next time he's on the rampage

Neither man has a hint of an opponent yet, maybe HHH will confront Lesnar.

I wonder will there be any fallout from Heyman being laid out inadvertently by Punk?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 19,602 ✭✭✭✭Liam O

Punk v Lesnar I reckon, he'll be very angry at Heyman on Raw for costing him the title and Brock comes to Heyman's rescue. Either that or the title is made a triple threat at Mania.

Really enjoyed the PPV in general, Shield match was definitely the best and most inventive 6 man tag in long time.

Thought Punk would do it after he kicked out of the elbow. Was a nice surprise but I was expecting something a little more out of the ordinary at the end.

2nd 8/10 in a row, I think I'll be happy if I rate Mania the same.

Bit of a strange move to pin Ryback though it might make sense in a week or two when the 'Mania plans are clearer. Very good six man, surprisingly Reigns is the standout member of the group. Finish of the Chamber match was electric, I'm about to watch the main event now.

rock v cena 2 this time for the title,it will suck like last years match, rock has lost what he once had in the ring and cena cant carry or make anyone look good.i was at mania last year and rock v cena was worse in person, great atmosphere but the match sucked.going into this year swagger v del rio has doesnt leave much to look forward to,if punk v taker happens they only have a few weeks to build it,and with punk loosing his title to rock and his streak theres noting about it that makes it believable that takers streak is in jepordy.sheamus, show, orton, henry and others dont have a match up yet and will be put on for fillers, all in all theres not much on the mania card to look forward to.triple h v lesnar is the only match that has built any credible story and has people interested.the shield will be in the mix somewhere against ryback no doubt in some capacity.

Glad I went to sleep after ziggles match as I have no time for the rock anymore. Hes damaged his legacey in my eyes since he came back, hope austin stays away for good after seeing the rock . Anyhow solid ppv roman reigns is an animal

I just thought it was an ok show. It started off a bit slow, the chamber match only really picked up near the end. Was hoping Jericho would win but I'm happy with Swagger. I was pleasently surprised with the Shield match, couldnt believe when they got the win, it looked awesome. Also, possible heel turn for Ryback?????

Delighted The Rock won, but felt a bit sick when they showed it will be Rock/Cena at Wrestlemania right away after the match. Maybe they possibly can still turn it into triple threat.

Was hoping there's be a Lesnar or Taker appearance, but no such joy. Id reckon if theres no Taker on Raw tonight, then he wont be back for Mania

    I thought it was a solid 7/10.

Positives: The shield - they were top class and all look like they could be round a while yet.
Elimination Chamber - Personally when the final line up was announced i was sceptical because I wasnt up for anyone in particular but I thought it was brilliantly done. Henry was an animal and the finish was quality I thought
Punk - Great performance and can at least still gripe about pinning the rock when the ref was down

Negatives: The del rio botch. To me it was a quality match but that killed it for me.
The ending to Miz Cesaro. Whoever came up with that is a tool IMO. Cesaro has beaten him clean before and seeing as half of the miz was covered in bandages it wouldnt have hurt him to lose clean. Just a poxy poxy ending

Gave it a solid 7.Very enjoyable ppv.Chamber match was one of the best ive seen with exciting finish.
Rock v Punk was average tbf, rock is very slow and laboured now but I guess hes ok for a 40 year old part time wrestler.Im not liking his sort of macho persona tensing before doing peoples elbow.I want to see the lean, agile and swagger rock of circa 2000.
Match of the night for me was the six man tag.Delighted to see the shield go over the big boys fair and clean they came acoss as a seriouly strong trio not to be taken lightly.
Del rio v big show was decent enough.Botch by rio didnt take away from finish.Rio is a classy performer tbf deseves the strap.

Went 8/10. PPV quality has been top notch from WWE lately. So many guys I like watching are in and around the top of the card now its great - Henry, the Shield, Cesaro, Bryan, Punk,ADR. Match quality has rarely been better down the card and the guys just under Main Event level are super talented.

I enjoyed it, worst match of course was the Diva's match, the main event was good but the finish was far to loaded. The Shield match and the elimination chamber match itself were awesome, really did not see Jack winning it, but its new and fresh so let see where they go with it. 8/10.

Really enjoyed it, Shield are awesome but as a casual fan I have to say I keep losing track of who is who in the group

Ryback is being messed up, unstoppable aura long gone now

    Rock is still cool

That would be a really good match. I reckon though it'll be Punk Vs Taker, and Sheamus and Ryback + someone else against the Shield again possibly ending with a Ryback heel turn.

Pleasantly surprised The Shield won. Wonder what those odds were. One of these days Lillian/Justin is not going to get out of the way in time. Lillian looked genuinely scared last night since she barely made it out of the way

When Teddy and Booker came out during the chamber, I was thinking "A chamber tag match?" :)

Big E really needs new attire. If his unitard was cut any higher it would be approaching mankini levels.

Overall was a grand Chamber apart from obvious things like Rock.

And oddly enough, I never remember who the divas champ is until she's announced.

Good solid start from Del Rio and Show ,botch ending aside
Made a sandwich during Miz Cesaro
Thought the chamber was only Ok ,did not meet last years Smackdown Chamber but probably better than Raws last year ,Henry came out looking a beast
Made another sandwich during the Diva s and Zigglers matches

Shield ,match of the night by far ,Reigns spear on Seamus was all kinds of awesome ,they are really selling the strength in unity of the shield and I feel that nobody on the roster can take them down.

Rock v Punk was all kinds of meh
I love the Rock and remember when he was a decent wrestler. He always was a guy who took a lot of punishment and came back strong but I felt he threw two punches one samoa drop and two finishers in the entire match.

Having no offence at all from the face led to the crowd dying and really spoilt the match.

Overall a 6 giving 3 points for the Shield match alone

Enjoyable show. The 6 Man Tag was immense. The Shield are just being booked (and hyped on commentary) perfectly. We've seen them compete twice only in official matches and twice they've looked dominant as a proper unit, a team.

No idea what Kofi was doing on PPV. Go away you bland person.

I really thought Henry looked a beast in that Chamber. Most threatening I've ever seen him. Very believable monster.

Orton was a model to go heel on Y2J after being upset by Swagger. They should've had him decimate Jericho in the cage. It wouldn't take away from Jack's win as he'll transition easily into a feud with ADR.....Zeb vs Ricardo could be a bit of craic!

The last match didnt do anything for me but over all I give a 7/10.

The finish to the 6 man tag is easily my favourite finish to a match in aaaages. Just so well thought out. It emphasises everything that's been great so far about them, i.e., quality wrestlers and working as team. Great spear by Reigns and how Rollins landed into the pin... Top drawer stuff *tips hat*

I cannot get over the speed at which Reigns is improving in the ring. That said, the three faces played their parts excellently too. Ryback in particular is looking much more comfortable in the ring these days, deserves a big victory at a PPV soon.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 10,469 ✭✭✭✭GTR63

Nearly done watching this(up to the main event now). Good stuff, thought the Chamber was only ok, Del Rio has silenced all my doubts of him as a babyface the direct opposite of Miz who I thought could be a good face.
6 Man Tag was nice to see with The Shield getting plenty of offence in on Cena and Sheamus while Ryback was left to one side to avoid him gassing too quick when he made the hot tag.
JBL and Cole shouting at each other before the WWE Title match was humiliating to hear what are they 6 or that.
Just finished now, Main Event was fair but nothing that would be anyway near any respectable MOTY awards.
    Now on to watching Raw.
