I hope this is the right place for this.

I'll be down in Cork this weekend for a course in Cork IT and seeing as I know next to nothing about Cork, I need some help in finding someplace to stay near the college.
I googled it and I found the Hayfield Hotel. It's way outta my price range!
The rest of the results were catering for student accommodation.

    Can anyone help?

Depends totally on your budget and how close you want to be.
If you can provide some idea of how much you want to spend, what are your minimum requirements for the place also it would help. And, if you are planning on walking, driving or getting public transport to CIT.

There's plenty of places, just depends on what you want. Hayfield Manor is 5 star so you hit on probably the most expensive place in the city

B & B here within walking distance (5 Mins or so)

If you're driving obviously you'll have a lot more options but this is about the closest.

I'm unsure if it's 2 or 3 nights yet (very badly organised so it is!) and I'm not even sure if I'm paying or if the organisation is paying for it. In case I'm paying, my budget would be €150 for two nights I'd say...

    I'm not driving.

That looks walkable twowheelsonly. I'll keep that one bookmarked. Can't see any rates on it though.

    I'd recommend here.

You have good bus links from the City Centre if you're getting the train down and AFAIK theres a bus stop outside there that goes out to CIT, now I'm not sure if they run during the weekend but you'd get a bus to Bishopstown alternatively which is where the campus is located.

That road where the B&B is on has a few B&B's to choose from.

.red - that's a 'Digs' isn't it? Not sure it's what the OP wants, or if the house-owner will offer...
