Submersible Pump

    Hello

Last week i had a new submersible pump installed at the overflow chamber at the back of my septic tank. This the third pump I have had installed in the last three years.

The first pump lasted two years, the second pump lasted a few months and the third pump is after giving up after a few days. The whole system is new and the function of the pump is to pump water onto a raised percolation bed.

I am at my wits end and do not understand why the pumps would keep breaking down.

Does anyone know a reason why the pumps would keep failing?

    Any reply would be appreciated.

    Thanks

No 3 probably has a fault in manufacture somewhere.

Other possible reasons. Pump is running dry when it should not be, which may be a faulty switch not turning it off when the tank is empty, depending on how the pump is controlled,

Pump is being blocked by contamination in the water, and being jammed, so taking excess current, which may not be detected by the fuse, so pump overheats.

Shore, if it was easy, everybody would be doin it.😁

Not meaning to be condescending but are you sure your buying a good quality pump with a flow detector. I find NJ Power brilliant for pumps and advice. Phone them tell them your problem and they will give you a suggestion of the best pump and where to buy it locally. They are agents they dont deal with Joe Public

The last two pumps were fitted by kingspan. The first was fitted by the builder. Including callout kingspan charge €370.

All of the house waste water flows into the septic tank.
