After a break-up what is the norm in regards to giving back belongings. I know clothes would be given back but what about jewellery from the relationship? Keep or give back?

Keep the jewellery, they were gifts. Unless if engagement ring

I recently went through a break up-gave back anything of his (clothes etc) and anything he'd loaned me (books/dvds) but kept jewellery etc that I was given for bdays/xmas.
