Advanced booking of accommodation in Sicily in early April?

I will be going to Sicily on my own this coming April (from 31st to 7th April). I have planned my trip but I am not sure whether I should book accommodation in advance or not. I think by not booking in advance, I would have more flexibility to change my plan as my initial plan is to travel quite a few places (stay in Siracusa, Palermo and Catania but do day trips in and around), but I would not mind to change my plan to just stay in a place for longer time if I am very happy to put in more time to explore etc. Only that I worry I can't find accommodation by that time and then end up paying a lot for accommodation which I wish not to as I would want to keep budget and travel more places later on in this year. Any advice welcomed!

i would definitely have your first and maybe 2nd night booked in advance and keep an eye on the availability of the hotels you plan on staying in (keep an eye on the price too!) I can't imagine it will be too busy, however it is easter week...not sure how popular sicily is at Easter. different story if you were thinking of doing that during peak season july/august perhaps.

I booked the accommodation already as I found out that some of the recommended accommodations (reviews from tripadvisor) are fully booked now. As a single female travelling on my own, maybe it's better be safe and book the accommodation now instead too late that I end up staying in hotels in doggy areas.

    THANKS though for your advice.
