Very shortly I'll be both ordering parts for an unraid server build and RMA'ing 3 failed parts from last years pC build from hardwareversand. The former should oil the wheels of the latter hopefully :D

Anyway, want to retire an old 4:3 dell LCD monitor from another pain the house and order a replacement at the same time as the unraid build order.

Can anyone recommend a half decent 24" 16:9 for around the €170 mark on hardwareversand. Don't need 3D capability. There's too many in that range to choose from and I was hoping you guys could help narrow down the choice.

3 failed parts? What happened, that's unlucky!

    U2312HM.

Have you got a bad PSU that's frying your parts?

Edit: Well the U2312HM is a bit dearer than your budget, just go for one of the other IPS screens that look okay around that price region.

More like unlucky choice of parts combination. Corsair H100 cooler. Part of acknowledged bad batch code. Black Screen of Death on an MSI Twin Frozr II GTX580. Common fault apparently. Dead fan controller on Corsair 600T case. Known fault. 2TB WD HDD failure which can happen.

That said my Corsair HX800 is a bit iof a squeeler under load so who knows.

Thanks for the Monitor advice :)

Checked out the reviews of that Beno and ordered one in the wee hours of this morning. I used to have the ground breaking Dell 24" back in '05 but gave it to my brother for his gaming PC years ago. Its still going strong at 8 years of age. So I know what to expect. I really miss the screen area but for one reason of another other things have taken preference as far as my finances were concerned. Thrilled to see a half decent 24" is so cheap now.

Anyway, its shipped already! Thanks again lads!! Can't wait! :D

    How wobbly Is the stand?

Is that monitor compatible with a Mac Mini? There doesn't seem to be a lot of info on Amazon..

Yeh considering it's a similar price to the tn's it's great for the price.

Its quite wobbly but so is my desk, if you have a solid one it shouldn't be that noticeable.
It has VGA, DVI and HDMI inputs so I would assume its compatible with Mac mini.

Great, thank you. I couldn't find where it said what inputs it supported on the Amazon page. I think I might order myself one of these!

    Mine was delivered yesterday.

Loving it!! Yeah, if ye have a restless leg tapping your desk, the monitor wobbles a little bit but in my opinion its much ado about nothing really.

Thanks again for the recommendation beno619. An absolute bargain. Not a duff pixel in sight.
