    It
is now known that on February 15, 2013 at 08:25 Universal Time, the asteroid will pass at a distance of 0.0002276 AU (34,050 km; 21,160 mi) from the center-point of Earth,[3] with an uncertainty region of about 0.0000001 AU (15 km; 9.3 mi).[3] It will pass about 27,700 kilometers (17,200 mi) above Earth's surface,[2] closer than satellites in geosynchronous orbit.[2]

100 people injured in Russia as meteors passed overhead last night causing windows to smash due to the sonic boom they created.

Maybe the rock was actually an asteroid, so from the OPs view, wouldnt have realised it was an asteroid, and just thought it was a rock

Sanitised way of saying 'near hit' from the aviation industry. Sounds much nicer and less threatening.

I am locking this because I am part of the illuminati conspiracy that seeks to profit from nobody knowing about this.

I type this from a bunker 20 miles under the South Pole. From here we will rise after the meteor shower to form the 4th Reich.

There will be no repeat of Stalingrad this time.
