Will need an i7 for the build as opposed to an i5. I do a lot of multi-threaded programming which I use hyperthreading for, it's also a benefit in photoshop and autodesk stuff

I don't know if CUDA or OpenCL are any use to you but I went with the amd card. The card might be overkill depending on how much you game and what you play.

Bloodbath pretty much nailed this thread with that post minus a decent CPU cooler. Get the Zalman z11 case and you'll be able to afford one and keep with in your budget.

Or you could get a bundles deal on Scan, I find their GPU offers the best around aswell, they'll always throw in a few games.

Best budget option is a coolermaster 212 evo but I hear those HT chips run a bit hotter so you might want something a little better.

Thanks everyone, looking forward to ordering all of this! Going to be a big improvement on my old rig, my Q6600 has put up with me for a long time but I think it's time to retire it!
