what is too much milage on a 2003 toyota corolla

hi, im looking for a 2002 or 2003 toyota corolla and im just wondering what mileage would be too much, like there was a 2003 corolla with 120,000 miles on it, the mileage was the reason I was put off buying it. ill be more than likely emigrating within two years so I want to buy a car that I can easily sell before emigrating and dont want a car with big mileage that may put people off buying it. so what would be too much mileage to you guys? I only drive around 6000 miles per yer.

120,000 isn't high for 10 year old car. Imo I would only buy a car with higher than average miles if it had full service history, least u know if it was driven a lot that it was serviced on time etc

Mileage should not be the deciding factor when whether a car is a good buy or not, Joe Publin puts too much emphasis on it when looking at cars. Alot of people out there think anything with 100k miles plus is a walkling time bomb.

A car with 50k miles on it may never have been serviced and had the nuts driven out of it where as a similar car with 100k miles that was serviced regularly and minded would be the better buy. Judge the car more on condition and service history over the figure the odometer displays.

Its still a better measure than the age of the car though.
Turning down a low mileage 05 for an astronomical mileage 06 just to have the plate.. Crazy

If they both got the same level of care and maintainance of course the 05 would be better but if the 05 was thrashed and the 06 was well cared for id think again. In general though well cared foe low milers are a better bet imo.

Also 120k isn't astronomical mileage, but it is still high enough.

Alot of low mileage cars tend to get very little servicing because their owners think that lack of use means they need less maintenance. Do you think a low mileage car owned by an old dear who drove it to the shops twice a week in second gear riding the clutch and changed the oil once in 10 years is a better buy than a well maintained higher mileage similar car?

There is well maintained low mileage cars out there too, just as there is poorly maintained high mileage cars out there. It works both ways really
