"Seeing" the hand of God

    I have a gynae problem for about two years now and one night recently I started crying before going to bed.

    I knew it was going to be one of those nights where I wouldn't sleep and I'd lay awake worrying about it for ages. I had my eyes closed and all of a sudden I could see a hand coming towards my head. I got such a fright that I opened my eyes and of course there was nothing there.

    I closed them again and it came again. This time I don't recall it being a hand coming towards me but more a feeling of intense energy, calmness and peace. It's a difficult feeling to explain. After that I felt sound asleep.

    I'm not a very religious person but somehow I do feel that it was God's hand. I wasn't dreaming it as a few seconds before it happened I was able wipe tears away from my face.

    I was just wondering if anyone who is a bit more religious than me know what that was all about?

    One way or the other... it was a nice feeling and I slept so peacefully after.

    God can make his presence known to us in many ways, so I wouldn't discount this. It's how you respond to this encounter that's important - Pray, give thanks, talk to a priest, go to church, read your Bible (try the story of Samuel), Seek God's will..

    To be honest, I don't know. It just feels like it was God, the God of my religion.

    You don't of course have to justify or explain an experience to anyone. Since you are posting on a Christianity forum most reasonable readers will understand that you mean God in a Christian sense and since you are using question marks most reasonable readers will infer that you are not declaring any definitive statements.

    I hope you continue to feel better. I agree with homer's advice in his post.
