    Hi,

A friend fell down the stairs at work. He wants to put in a compo claim against his employer. How long does he have from the date of the accident to make a claim of negligence against his employers?

    Cheers

Well the guy was saying reports were made numerous times about a defective stairs which his employers did nothing about. You can't blame him really.

So keep your smart a.rse comments to yourself.

If they knew and the workers knew then would being careful not come into the equation.

People fall all the time and also if hand rails are provided you use them, as most don't.

Same on a bus people fall all the time but it's their own actions usually that cause them to fall.

If you don't want comments then don't post on a public forum. I'm just amused at the things that are sued for these days. But I'm sure your friends solicitor will explain the concept of contributory negligence to him so you don't need me to do it.

So why is it you're assuming due care wasn't taken? Are you saying he threw himself down the stairs becuase thats what it sounds like?

I wonder would you still find it amusing if you were stretchered out to an ambulance and you couldn't feel your own legs?

He should have started procedings before he hit the bottom.

I know an eminent lawyer who used to say " send out the writ with the blood on it" i.e. don't delay

No doubt he banged his head on the way down as a result of which he'll be suffering from selective recall amnesia and won't be able to remember if his colleagues passed on this warning to him before he tumbled down the stairs.
