I just want to know if this is safe. I know about paypal etc, but I also know there is some scammers out there. What i would be afraid of I am selling a perfectly good phone, working, brand new basically, but what if someone says oh it didnt work etc when I know it does?
Im just a little concered. Ive got it on gumtree and have had nothing but scammers contacting me, its ridiculous.
    Am I worrying about nothing?

Sell it on adverts. meet the person - in person with cash.

I have sold a few smartphones on eBay and haven't had any trouble with scammers. Make sure you pack it properly so that it won't get damaged in transit and send by registered post so that you have insurance in case it does get damaged in transit. Also, clearly state you will only accept Paypal and you don't offer returns, you can also specify which countries you will sell to, you're likely to make more money if you allow bidders from Europe. Quite a few sellers say they won't accept bids from people with zero feedback, probably a good idea. Obviously the more detailed you make your listing the more likely it will sell and the less likely you will get complaints from the buyer about something you neglected to mention in the listing, eg. if it has any damage, take photos of damage, etc. I tend to find it easier to sell things on eBay than adverts.ie but maybe it's just because I live in the middle of nowhere! :)

Between eBay and paypal fees and the horrendous cost of postage in Ireland you might only end up with between 80 - 85% of the price you sell it for. eBay is very expensive to sell on. Adverts.ie would be a better choice and free too.
