Concrete lintel cracked over new stove

We got a new extension built 18 months ago with a new chimney breast included and we have a solid fuel stove with back boiler installed.

We have noticed there is a crack in the new lintel right in the middle, over where the flue goes up the chimney (we presume from the heat of the flue).

Should we be worried? Is there anyone we can contact to see if there is a serious problem?

Don't want to go back to either builder or plumber as we had problems with both.

    You need a structural engineer

I think you may be right.

I presumed that the lintels the builder installed in a fireplace would be heat resistant, obviously they are not.....

Is it the lintel?? or just the plaster over it??. If its the latter of the to i would not be overly concerned.

If you could get a picture of the crack I am sure somebody here will be able to advise you.
