    Hi,

I recently purchased a saorview approved tv from my local xtravision, I recently lost my channels when the digital switch over happened. The man in the shop this was a digital and saorview approved tv and assured me that I would be able to get it in my area

When I brought it home this is we're the problems started (first of all I'm no tech geek having the same tv for the last 15years ) turned it on and it said scan for digital channels so I did and it said 0digital channels ,,, please help

Should be in the terrestrial forum.

The switchover happened 3 & a half months ago. What analogue channels did you receive prior to switchover?

What part of the country are you in? Is your signal coming from an outdoor aerial?

Spikey metal thing on the chimney? Whatever is on the other end of the cable plugged into the tv's aerial/antenna - in socket, that will be the actual aerial.

If you do have an outdoor aerial, post a picture of it here. Maybe take a look at the Saorview coverage checker too.

Should add that I wasn't trying to be smart here. It's possible the aerial could be for the wrong frequency band: was there any marked difference in reception quality between RTE analogue & the other 2 channels?

If you only have a VHF aerial (former RTE analogue in a lot of areas), this would be pretty obvious from a photo.

The photo in post #8 is of the Crystal Palace broadcasting tower in London, if I'm not mistaken.
